Are you Looking for Information about Prenatt Genealogy?
When I was in high school, I researched my family tree for a United States history class. Surprisingly, my father’s father could not provide me with very much information about our Prenatt pedigree. However, in 1995 or 1996, I received an unsolicited e-mail from the now late Thomas Prenatt Newton. Thomas’ grandmother’s maiden name was Prenatt, and he was able to provide me with an extensive amount of information about Prenatt genealogy. I also gleaned a certain amount of information about Prenatt genealogy from correspondence with other Prenatts that Thomas put me in touch with.

Sadly, I did not keep up my Prenatt correspondence over the years, and virtually all of the correspondence that I did have was lost, along with the limited amount of information that I gleaned from my own Grandfather Prenatt. Nonetheless, in October of 2003, I heard from a long lost Prenatt relative who inspired me to pick up the remaining pieces of Prenatt genealogy that I could remember and create a more or less indelible record of that genealogy by publishing it on the Internet. Witness the beginning of that indelible record in the present document.

The genealogical information published on this Web site was obtained from a variety of sources, most notable among them being the aforementioned Thomas Prenatt Newton. Thomas has also served as an indispensable go between with various Prenats and Prenatts as well as various Prenat and Prenatt descendants who have researched Prenat/Prenatt genealogy for decades, providing a remarkably complete history of Prenatt genealogy from the early 17th Century through to the present. Most notable among these Prenat/Prenatt genealogists are Annette Lynch, Barbara Kolk, and François Prenat, although not necessarily in that order.
